Recorded in early 2025 and officially released on 28 November 2025 across all major DSPs, Before the Revenge serves as Macwinner’s debut EP — a four-track introduction to an artist rooted in storytelling, versatility and where he comes from.

Throughout the project, Macwinner leans into Motswako as a vehicle to narrate stories from his hometown, 2725, drawing listeners deeper into his world while paying homage to some of North West’s most influential hip-hop figures, including Tuks Senganga, Khuli Chana and Jabba. Their contributions to the province’s hip-hop legacy form part of the foundation that Before the Revenge builds on.

More than just a debut, the EP is a reflection of growth, resilience and ambition. It captures the perspective of an artist coming from a town that may feel far removed from the industry’s idea of “dreamland,” but remains full of hope, hunger and belief that a breakthrough is possible.

The project also features a contribution from Pretoria-based hip-hop veteran Kri$h, adding another layer of experience and lyrical weight to the EP.

With Before the Revenge, listeners can expect raw storytelling, versatility, unpredictability and a flexible approach to production — all while Macwinner remains connected to the central message and identity of the project. It’s an introduction to his world, his hometown and the journey that is still unfolding.
