Tekno Asks ‘Where Did Love Go?’ on Album Blending Romance, Rhythm and Reflection

Tekno returns with Where Did Love Go?, an eight-track album that reminds everyone why he remains one of Afrobeats’ most consistent hitmakers. Released through emPawa Africa, the project leans into melody, vulnerability and romance — the exact formula that has kept Tekno’s music connecting across continents for years.

Following the success of singles ‘Bamboo’, ‘Press Button’ and ‘Matter’, which have already pulled in over 3.1 million streams, the album finds Tekno fully in his bag creatively, handling production on half of the project himself while teaming up with producers Yung Willis, D’Meek, Justopac and Tino.

From the smooth, groove-heavy opener ‘Bamboo’ to the dancehall bounce of ‘Press Button’, Where Did Love Go? moves through different shades of love, heartbreak and devotion. At the emotional core of the album sits ‘Adaeze’, where Tekno taps into vulnerability and confusion over a fading relationship, delivering one of the project’s most heartfelt moments.

Elsewhere, ‘Matter’ flips loyalty into an infectious singalong anthem, while ‘Port Au Prins’ explores the idea of leaving everything behind for love. ‘Wedding Day’ brings warmth and commitment into the mix with uplifting melodies built around forever-lasting love, before ‘Gently’ and ‘Avelay’ close the album on a softer, feel-good note.

Blending Afrobeats, Afropop and dancehall textures with his signature melodic touch, Where Did Love Go? feels like Tekno at his most honest and refined — proving once again that few artists translate everyday emotions into timeless records quite like he does.

Where Did Love Go? is now available on all streaming platforms.
