Spotify has released its 2026 Global Impact List, highlighting South African artists and tracks that resonated most with listeners around the world during the first half of the year.   

This year’s list shows that South African music’s global success is being driven by a growing community of artists, with more local talent reaching new audiences internationally than ever before.   

South Africa has long been recognised for shaping global music trends, and this year a new generation of artists is taking that story even further. BabyDaiz, Benzoo, Bukzin Keyz, Tango Supreme, ^^Tobias slaps, Ez Maestro and M00tion all feature on this year’s Global Impact List, reflecting the depth and diversity of the country’s music scene.  

Among the tracks connecting with global audiences are Allonsy by BabyDaiz and Mopepe from Benzoo, Bukzin Keyz and Tango Supreme. Joined by Fast Fast, a collaboration between 031CHOPPA, Al Xapo, Benzoo, JussGigi, Optimist Music ZA, and Roscosteazy, as well as Head Movement by Ez Maestro and M00tion.  

This year’s Global Impact List reflects the diversity of South African music and the many artists contributing to its growing international presence. Rather than one artist defining South Africa’s global story, the country’s success is being shaped by a new generation of talent, with multiple artists building audiences across playlists, markets and musical styles.
