The 2026 Basketball Africa League season kept pushing on March 28 at SunBet Arena — and trust, it was nothing but high-level hoops and statement performances shaping the Kalahari Conference.

Afternoon tip-off? Straight pressure. Dar City Basketball Club moved to a clean 2–0 in their debut run, edging out Nairobi City Thunder 90-85 in a gritty battle. David Michineau went crazy — 39 points, 8 boards, 7 assists — real MVP-type numbers. Nisre Zouzoua held it down too with 20, helping Dar City lock it in when it mattered most.

Then the night game? Yeah, that was a movie. A rematch of the 2024 finals saw Petro de Luanda come through with a loud 104-90 win over Al Ahly Ly. From the jump, Petro set the tone — no doubts, no hesitation. Childe Dundao dropped 27, while Milton Valente was efficient with 19 on near-perfect shooting. That’s how you open a campaign — dominant.

The Kalahari Conference isn’t slowing down either. Next up, RSSB Tigers step into the fire against Petro, while Johannesburg Giants defend home court against Nairobi City Thunder. Energy? Guaranteed.
