South African hip-hop boasts rich and diverse talent, with many rappers proudly representing their hometowns as they push boundaries and make moves in Gauteng.
Huge Da Oracle, who entered the scene as part of Huge Impakt, recently released an 8-track project titled “You Asked For It.” This project features collaborations with incredible artists such as Afuraka Nene, McFresh Lengwale, and Nic Jay on the track “Fall Short,” a beautifully composed song that I wouldn’t hesitate to dedicate to a Tswana lady. In one of the lines, he says, “Mosadi wa di toro tsame re shera le mosamo/ real platinum star re kopane ko phokeng,” expressing his love and admiration for a lady. Another notable feature is “Warrior,” which includes Casmo Marciano, CliffAtWord, and Bongo Riot. This track alone has the power to uplift you. Nic Jay is also featured on “Kolota”. In a recent conversation with Huge, he praised Nic, calling him the hardest working guy with unmatched creativity, which makes sense when listening to the project. “Hood Dynamics, Pt 2” and “No Hot Ash Freestyle” complete the project. Meanwhile, “Burgundy” and “To The Top” stand out on the album’s first half.
