Global Spanish artist Rosalía has been officially announced as Dior‘s latest global ambassador. The announcement comes after she wore a sophisticated and classic black strapless column skirt-set by Dior that took over 1800 hours to make.
Her first role project as brand ambassador sees the Spanish star as the face of the Lady Dior campaign. The French fashion house has confirmed to the publication that the Lady Dior handbag campaign has been shot by American photographer Collier Schorr. Rosalía was spotted carrying the Lady Dior bag at the Dior Fall 2024 RTW show recently. A long-time fan, Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri used excerpts from the artist’s second studio album, El Mal Querer in her 2023 Cruise show hosted in Seville, Spain.
In a statement from Dior womenswear creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, she spoke about Rosalía’s global ambassadorship, “I immediately fell in love with Rosalía’s music. I then looked deeper into her work and was truly struck by her dedication as both a musician and producer.” Chiuri added, “I was especially fascinated by how this young artist was able to reinterpret and reactivate the sounds and clothing associated with flamenco, transposing them to a more modern and contemporary framework.” Chiuri concluded, “When we finally met, I thought that she would make a perfect Dior ambassador because of how she represents a modern form of womanhood. Rosalía is a young creator who uses her voice to express herself, her strength and her creativity, thereby developing a new language.” Rosalía’s ambassadorship for the house and debut campaign, sees her be the first celebrity since 2016 to front an advertising campaign for Lady Dior. She joins the likes of Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron as muses for the house.
