DanceAfrika proudly announced the release of Beyond Toshi (DA020), the most personal and ambitious album of Toshi’s celebrated career. The 12-track project arrived on all major streaming platforms on Friday, 3 April 2025.

A deeply introspective journey through love, identity, resilience, and spiritual growth, Beyond Toshi showcased the full spectrum of contemporary African sound. The album masterfully wove together Afro-Soul, Afro-House, Neo-Gospel, and African Electronica into a cohesive, soul-stirring body of work that stood as a defining statement in South African music.

“Beyond Toshi is everything I’ve been building towards. It’s bigger than music — it’s a statement of who I am and where African sound is going,” said Toshi.

Every collaboration on the album was chosen purely for artistic resonance rather than commercial appeal. Beyond Toshi featured an impressive lineup of artists, including Bokkieult, Cuebur, BC, Shona SA, Catzico, Frost, Spice, Inzima, Black Motion, Alie Keys, LATTY, Way Kay, Big Sbuda, and Cazzyy — each contributing to the rich narrative across the twelve tracks.

The lead single “Omale” ft. Bokkieult and the second single “Sikelela” ft. Shona SA were both released before the album, accompanied by their official music videos.
