South African artist Bugzito returns with a deeply moving visual presentation for “Reconnect,” featuring Marcus Harvey — a release that goes beyond music and stands as a heartfelt tribute to late cinematographer Wack202.

Lifted from his album Dilo Tlhakana, Reconnect arrives as more than just a visual — it’s a preserved moment in time. Shot on the same day as the Kao Chaela music video, the piece was born out of a powerful creative session where vision, energy, and collaboration aligned. What started as another step in Bugzito’s rollout has now transformed into something far more meaningful.

The concept, crafted by Bugzito alongside creative partner Zimkitha, was brought to life through the lens of Wack202 and Thabiso Lukhele (Blacklight) of Red Tape Films. Supporting the vision were crew members Sibu Kumbaca and Eugene Mthimunye, all contributing to a visual that now carries legacy-level weight.

At the center of the narrative, Blaq Blood and Lerato Bokaba step into the roles of a couple navigating connection and distance — mirroring the song’s emotional core while adding depth to the storytelling.

But beyond the frames and performances, Reconnect holds something deeper for Bugzito. Following Wack202’s passing, the artist chose to sit with the footage — not out of hesitation, but out of respect. He waited for the right moment, the right feeling, to release a piece they had built together.

“I was still chasing a specific vision I had in my head,” Bugzito reflects. “He was excited and ready to make it happen. I didn’t know that would be our last exchange.”

Now, that vision lives on. Reconnect stands as a tribute to collaboration, creativity, and the kind of energy that doesn’t fade — even after the cameras stop rolling.
