Revlon Fragrance brought Mall of Africa’s Town Square to a standstill on Valentine’s Day with a bold, high-energy Promposal PR Stunt, officially launching the brand’s highly anticipated 2026 “Take Scentre Stage” Matric Dance Campaign. 
 
What started as a three-day-long mystery during the brand’s mall activation, with “Did You Get The ASK?” notes sparking curiosity among Gen Z, culminated in a show-stopping live reveal that drew shoppers into the mall’s town square. 

At exactly 12h30 on Saturday, 14 February, Mall of Africa’s Town Square was disrupted into a Step-Up-style flash mob, featuring high-energy dancers before the moment reached its emotional peak: a real-life matric learner receiving a dream promposal in front of a cheering crowd.

The moment officially marked the opening of Revlon Fragrance’s Take Scentre Stage Matric Dance 2026 campaign, a nationwide initiative celebrating South African youth, confidence, and milestone moments. The campaign positions Revlon Fire & Ice and Revlon Pink Happiness as the fragrances of firsts, self-expression, and milestone big nights.
 
“We created this because Matric Dance isn’t just an event, it’s a defining moment for South African youth” says Vanessa Mavehe. It’s the build-up, the nerves, the friends, the promposal, everything. This campaign is youth-centric because we genuinely wanted to step into their world, not ask them to step into ours. Giving them a real, cinematic promposal moment was our way of saying: we see you; we celebrate you, and we want Revlon to be part of the memories you’ll look back on for years.”
