Netflix today unveiled its 2026 slate, presenting a bold and diverse lineup of upcoming titles from around the world, including locally-produced films and series that place South African talent and storytelling firmly on the global map.

The 2026 slate features a mix of returning fan favourites, high-stakes drama and globally celebrated formats reimagined through a local lens.

Leading the slate is Yoh! Bestie, created by Tiffany Barbuzano and Johnny Barbuzano, which builds on the Yoh! universe as a feature film following the success of Yoh! Christmas. Set to launch on 6 February 2026, the story reunites audiences with beloved characters Thando (Katlego Lebogang) and Charles (Siya Sepotokele) as they confront unresolved feelings ahead of a destination wedding in Knysna. The film brings back fan-favourite talent and leans into romance, friendship and emotional tension, delivering a fresh take on a story audiences already love.

Also returning is Fatal Seduction Season 3, set to be the most suspense-filled chapter yet. The new season introduces fresh cast members while welcoming back fan favourites, including Hope Mbhele, Lorcia Cooper Kumalo, Thando Thabethe, Kgomotso Christopher, Prince Grootboom, Thapelo Mokoena and Kevin Smith. The season deepens the psychological stakes as secrets unravel and dangerous entanglements intensify.

New to the slate is 180, a gritty thriller anchored by a strong Black male lead. The film explores the pressures of everyday South African life through the story of Zak, a reformed gangster whose attempt at a quiet life is shattered by a single, life-altering incident, which puts him on a path of revenge. The film stars Desmond Dube, Fana Mokoena, Prince Grootboom, Warren Masemola and Bongile Mantsai, bringing together some of the country’s most respected acting talent.

Reality fans can look forward to Love Is Blind: South Africa, the local edition of the global phenomenon. The series follows singles who form emotional bonds without ever seeing one another, before testing whether love can survive the realities of physical connection and real life. The South African version promises high emotional stakes and intimate storytelling as participants navigate the intricacies of modern relationships.

Returning Global Hits and New Stories in 2026

The South African slate is complemented by major global titles set to drop in 2026. These include Bridgerton Season 4, with its South African premieres in Cape Town on 26 January, alongside the return of One Piece, and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, the acclaimed British drama led by Cillian Murphy.

The global offering is further strengthened by the award-winning BEEF returning for a second season on 16 April. The slate also includes the new seriesMan on Fire, which follows former Special Forces mercenary John Creasy as he is drawn back into danger while seeking redemption. Rounding out the lineup is the upcoming new film Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip, set to debut exclusively on Netflix on 13 February, directed by Tyler Perry and produced by Tyler Perry Studios
