Johannesburg came alive as Afrobeats heavyweight Asake delivered his first-ever South African performance, marking a significant cultural moment for African music. Presented by AfroFuture’s live experience platform, CURATED BY CULTURE (CBC), the show took place at the Goldrush Dome. It stood as more than just a concert — it was a statement about African excellence at scale.

Making its South African debut, CURATED BY CULTURE positioned itself as a premium, story-driven platform rooted in culture, ambition, and intentional curation. The night also served as the closing chapter of Asake’s Africa tour, adding emotional weight to a performance that felt both celebratory and symbolic — a continental homecoming of sorts.

Asake’s set was carefully curated to elevate the live experience. Orchestral arrangements paired seamlessly with the powerful harmonies of the Soweto Choir, while surprise guest appearances from Focalistic and Young Jonn created a rare moment of unity between Nigerian and South African hitmakers on one stage.

Supporting acts, including Nights in Lagos, GBEDU Nights, and Musa Keys, carried the pan-African energy throughout the night, reinforcing the event’s cross-cultural vision. Brand partners Red Bull, Martell, and Jägermeister further amplified the experience, contributing to the night’s polished, high-production feel.

Asake’s South African debut didn’t just meet expectations — it redefined them. And with CURATED BY CULTURE planting its flag in the local live music space, the platform has signalled its intent to shape the future of premium African live experiences.
