The original DIY 3, released on October 31, 2024, earned praise for its authentic African trap sound, multilingual delivery and themes that explored growth, struggle and family. Songs such as “GOOD TIME”, “KEEP IT REAL” featuring Saudi and “PATIENCE” with Just G strengthened Emtee’s reputation as a pioneer of melodic trap in South Africa. The newly released Deluxe version extends the album to 17 tracks and brings a fresh roster of collaborations that elevate the project into a full-scale trap celebration.
The Deluxe edition adds six new songs and introduces more than 20 minutes of additional music. Each track offers a distinct angle of Emtee’s artistry, strengthened by contributions from some of the country’s most sought-after names.
The new additions to DIY 3 Deluxe form a compelling extension of Emtee’s journey, beginning with the inspiring “Dreams 2.0” featuring Young Stunna, which sets the tone with its urgent trap energy and messages of ambition. Moving forward, the mood deepens with “4 DA Trenches” alongside Sjava, where haunting melodies and honest reflections on survival create one of the project’s most emotionally gripping moments.
From there, the energy shifts upward as “WTS” with Blue Pappi and LaCabra injects a burst of club-ready excitement, offering a sharp contrast to the previous introspection. Soon after, Emtee and Young Stunna reunite on “Benithini Ngam’” to deliver a heartfelt and melodic contemplation of personal struggles and overlooked sacrifices, adding a layer of vulnerability to the collection.
As the momentum continues, “How About Now” finds Emtee standing firmly in his confidence while examining growth and resilience with a tone that feels both triumphant and confrontational. Finally, the Deluxe closes with “Feelings” featuring Loatinover Pounds, a reflective and emotionally rich piece that ties the new tracks together with sincerity and depth, bringing the expansion to a thoughtful and resonant finish.
