Born Thabo Mahlwele but known to fans across the country as Touchline, the rapper has officially reintroduced himself as Mambisa’s Golden Boy—a title solidified in 2025 with two Gold plaques for “I’ll Always Have Me” and Before I Say More 2. In a period when many had written off South African hip-hop as fading, Touchline’s achievement as an independent artist makes this milestone even more significant.

To mark the occasion, Touchline hosted the Mambisa’s Golden Boy Dinner—an intimate evening with family, industry peers, colleagues, and media. The gathering was more than a celebration of streaming numbers and certifications; it was a moment of reflection on a journey that began in Thembisa and carried his voice onto national and international stages.

In his speech, Touchline expressed deep gratitude to his fans, community, and everyone who has been part of his rise. With the words “Everything Matters”, he reminded guests to cherish every step, lesson, and act of support along the way. True to his reputation for representing the dreams and struggles of “Ghetto Kids,” Touchline emphasized the importance of love, unity, and collective progress.

The evening also featured heartfelt tributes. Kwesta echoed his own words from “Out of Love”, reaffirming Touchline’s impact and how his music continues to heal and inspire. Slikour praised Touchline’s relentless preparation and growth, highlighting not only his artistry but also his dedication to uplifting those around him.

Before closing the night, Touchline announced that a documentary on Before I Say More 2 is currently in production. The film promises to give fans and the industry an inside look at the making of the Gold-certified project and the story behind it.

With humility, resilience, and vision, Touchline continues to show that in his world—and in his journey—Everything Matters
