Volkswagen Shares First Look at Updated 2025 ID. Buzz Microbus

Volkswagen has unveiled the offering structure for its highly anticipated electric vehicle (EV), the 2025 ID. Buzz, which modernizes the legendary Microbus for a new era. While nearly identical to the example revealed in 2022, the 2025 model will be available in three unique trims: Pro S, Pro S Plus and a special launch-only 1st Edition.

As for performance, the EV van is powered by a robust 91 kWh battery and comes in two configurations: rear-wheel drive (RWD) with 282 hp and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option, under the 4Motion brand, boasting up to 335 hp.

From a design standpoint, the ID. Buzz pays homage to the original Microbus while integrating modern elements like a large VW logo and a broad, expansive greenhouse. The vehicle features 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels and dual power-sliding rear doors, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Color options for the ID. Buzz are extensive, with two-tone and single-tone choices that allow owners to personalize their vehicles. The interior, available in three themed palettes — Moonlight, Dune and Copper — mirrors the vehicle’s exterior colors and offers a range of aesthetic options from coastal inspirations to dark, moody tones.

Technologically advanced, the ID. Buzz includes a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless charging and Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE advanced driver assistance system. The Pro S model accommodates up to seven passengers with bench seating, while the Pro S Plus and 1st Edition models offer configurations that include optional captain’s chairs for increased comfort.

The Pro S Plus trim enhances the ID. Buzz experience with features like a head-up display, a 700-watt harman/kardon sound system and an innovative electrochromic panoramic glass roof. The 1st Edition adds exclusive elements like unique wheels, special badging and additional high-end amenities.

Details on range and pricing have yet to be released at the time of writing but are expected to be shared by the automaker closer to the vehicle’s launch date.
