A talented wordsmith with impeccable flows is how I would describe the talent that is Yung Tyran. He recently released a new single titled “Hard To Believe”. Part of the reason Yung Tyran’s sound is so palatable comes down to his ability to effortlessly bring you into his world, and his various perspectives on life. I would not categorise him as someone who fits the prototypical mould of a storyteller, but I would consider him one nonetheless. Whereas the typical storyteller would give a detailed breakdown of an event, Yung Tyran’s storytelling interlinks the various thoughts he has into a song. What I enjoy most is that despite his thoughts appearing as sporadic, they all come together as if they were one cohesive topic. On the track “Hard To Believe”, he details how his dreams of rap superstardom once seemed out of reach to the doubters around him and how he has come to prove them wrong. Futhermore, he touches on how his upbringing was that of a typical South African in the sense that his grandmother raised him.
