Three South African coaches are currently in Las Vegas for the 2025 NBA2K Summer League, working alongside coaching staff from official NBA teams! The prestigious tournament — running until July 20 — serves as a launchpad for the league’s rising stars and future talent.

These coaches are part of a select group from Africa chosen to participate in a developmental program aimed at enhancing coaching skills across the continent.

Lindokuhle Sibankulu (Sacramento Kings) previously served as assistant coach for Made By Ball (MBB) during the recently concluded 5th season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Igor Lunnemann (New Orleans Pelicans) is a coach at the African Basketball Academy, helping develop the next generation of African basketball talent.

Junior Mmoloke (Boston Celtics) returns to the NBA2K Summer League for a second appearance, having previously been part of the 2023 championship-winning Cleveland Cavaliers coaching staff. He currently serves at NBA Academy Africa, the elite academy based in Senegal, where he’s coached rising stars like Ulrich Chomche (Toronto Raptors) and Khaman Maluach (Phoenix Suns).

This is a proud moment for South African and African basketball, as homegrown talent continues to break new ground on the global stage — both on the court and courtside.
