Jaeger-Lecoultre Readies a New Interpretation of the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948 World-Timer

Following the unveiling of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s alluring novelties at Watches & Wonders last month, the Maison continues to explore further into its archives to offer refreshing updates on existing models. The latest release is a brand-new interpretation of the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948, presented in an 18-carat pink gold case and starring a wondrous green enamel dial.

Known for its mastery of watch complications, Jaeger-LeCoultre proudly showcases its watchmaking prowess in every aspect of its creation. In the case of this new reference, the world-time complication is artistically integrated with the use of artisanal handcrafts as expressed through lacquer work, enameling and hand-guillochage — bringing to life a stunning and mesmerization depiction of the globe.

The dauphine-style hour and minute hands boast a golden look that complements the subtle warm hue of the watch’s pink gold casing. A flying tourbillon sits in the 6 o’clock position, spinning in 60 seconds. When the tourbillon completes a 360 degree of the dial, the map and city ring also turn to mimic Earth’s rotation.

As indicated in the name, the timepiece runs on the in-house Calibre 948, an automatic-winding movement offering 48 hours of power reserve while beating at a rate of 28,800 vibrations every hour.

The wristwatch is complete with an elegant alligator strap in black, released as a limited production of 20 examples. Visit Jaeger-LeCoultre’s official website for more details and to inquire about its price point and availability.
